ONE PISSED OFF BLONDE

I was out running errands today and happened to be in Long Lake! That is where my office is and where my Russian friend Lidia lives. So I stopped by her place and say Previt!

Lidia was resting on the couch! I knew she had been working all week because I had not seen much of her at my work.

Lidia told me today that she had been starting work at 5:00am and would work until 11:00pm. That is a hell of a long day and she spent it cleaning. Lidia then told me that they paid her $50.00 for that amount of time..........This is where I got royally pissed off...Let's do the math shall we...It amounts to $2.70 an hour....Give or take a few rotten cents! I told Lidia that I wanted to call these people. She said "No, Becky, No!" I am saying OH YES! This isn't something I can pretend I did not hear or have knowledge of!

Lidia told me that this woman has people working for her with no green card, no valid visas and no Social Security card.......I am sorry for these people and I know they need to care for there family's but this type of work should not exist here! I'm sorry my actions will effect there only source of income but we do not practice slavery here in the United States!

I know my friend Luba may ask me not to do anything about this woman who runs this company. But how can I sit back and let this continue knowing that people are not being treated fairly and possibly not humanely? I cannot have this knowledge and do nothing!

If I contact the proper authorities and give them enough information, maybe that will be the extent of my involvement. I am not looking for trouble, but I cannot sit back and know in my heart that this is happening to people who come here to be free!
