Fun with Felipe and family!

As I sit here tonight alone at home, I look at all the pictures I posted below and wish we could all still be together and having fun! Unfortunately time this weekend did not allow for that! I would have loved to have Phils down here at least until tomorrow but he has to be at work tomorrow (Sunday) at 6AM. I am so happy that he came for the day! As tired as I know he was and with all the things he needs to get done in Duluth, he took the time to come see us! Love ya Felipe!

It was a great day at the fair! Extremely crowded as I knew it would be the Saturday before Labor day! I am going to say the the crowds were above 125,000 people. (9/5/04 Update...I was extremely off on my crowd estimate...Last year on the same day the crowd was at 214,276! This year smaller, 204,934...still very crowded yesterday)The people watching is WOW! You see people there that probably only come out of their house once a year and it is for the State Fair and it shows! The oddballs and freaks were out en mass today! Phils was getting a little tight with all the people cutting you off as you are walking, pushing you, bumping you and in general just rude! Phils quickly got the hang of Fair crowds and started line backing his way through that mass of humanity! I should have taken a picture of the sea of people but just being among them was enough! I don't need a picture to tell me how crowded it was!

Phils and I had Evan, Sophie and Peter with us for part of the day at the fair. We took them to all the animal barns which were clean but had the animal aroma! We saw sheep, funny looking chickens and roosters, cows, pigs....A really, really big pig, 1200+ lbs.......holy pig! Last but not least we saw the horses! We were glad to get out of the barns and back into the swarm of people because at least outside there was a nice breeze and no animal waste stench! Quiver just thinking of the smells......yuck! After the animal barns, Jill called to tell us that they had arrived at the fair, so we went to find them!

We had a great time! The pictures below show it! Would have loved to hang with everyone longer today, but Evan had to go back to his Dad's and Phils back to Duluth! So here I am at home hoping we can all get together again soon and with Julio! I love you all! Enjoy the pictures.....Beijos
